The European Law Students’ Association (ELSA) Sweden is one of 43 national groups in the world’s largest independent law students’ association. In total, ELSA consists of approximately 60 000 members from over 400 faculties in Europe. In Sweden there are eight local groups, which are located in Umeå, Uppsala, Stockholm, Karlstad, Örebro, Linköping, Gothenburg & Lund.
ELSA Sweden vision is in compliance with ELSA International’s:
A just world in which there is respect for human dignity and cultural diversity.
Our aim is to contribute to broad legal knowledge and promote mutual understanding and social responsibility among law students and young lawyers. Furthermore, ELSA Sweden contributes to communication and cooperation among Swedish law students across the country, and to give them international possibilities across borders.
Our local groups organize all types of events, like study trips, lectures, seminars, moot court competitions and parties. We also work with international students in particular, with programs like the International Buddy Programme where cxchangestudent in Sweden are provided with a Buddy to show them around in their student city.
Do you want to become active in ELSA, or attend our social events? Please contact the local group on your faculty, or follow their Facebook page to see what’s happening.
