Applications open for Privacy Matters – An international seminar in cooperation with Mannheimer Swartling

Data protection regulations affect most of us on a daily basis, but how much do we really know about this field of law and the rules that apply?

ELSA Sweden proudly presents a one-day international seminar on the topic of privacy matters and personal data. The event is arranged in cooperation with one of the leading Swedish law firms, Mannheimer Swartling, and will take place on Friday April 15th 2016 at their offices in Stockholm.

During the seminar, you will listen to the lecturers, Erica Wiking Häger and Anders Bergsten from Mannheimer Swartling, Mårten Schultz, professor in civil law at Stockholm University and Anna Mirsch, Legal Council at Spotify, share their thoughts on the matter. The aim of the seminar is both to touch upon the potential issues in this field, but also to gain further knowledge on the relevant rules. Some of the topics that will be treated at the seminar are privacy matters in relation to sustainable businesses, civil law liability and social media, and the new EU General Data Protection Regulation.

The event is free of charge, breakfast and lunch is included and participants will receive diplomas at the end of the day. All ELSA members, both Swedish and from other ELSA national/local groups, are welcome to send in their application, and the event will be given in English.

Applications will be accepted from March 30th at 11.00 CET until April 6th at 23.59 CET. Apply by emailing your name, local/national ELSA group and how far along you are in your studies to VP S&C Sahel Noroozi at . Please note that the application is binding, and that applications sent outside of the application period will be disregarded. The applicants will be chosen in the order of which they apply, and there is a limited amount of spots – so make sure to apply on time!

Do not miss out on this unique possibility to deepen your understanding of an area of practice that is rarely included in the regular curriculum at universities!
